Even with the bar set so high, Unkrich, Lasseter, Stanton and Arndt have pretty much knocked it out of the park. Funny, poignant and filled with the amazing level of animation that's the essence of Pixar's brand... highly recommended for everyone.
It's pretty much fantastic. The casting and acting is spot-on, and the story is compelling. Mr. Roddenberry would be proud! The only sad thing at the end of the film is that we're going to have to wait a couple years for another one...
First off, way too long for a movie of this sort. Really dragged during many of the dialogue-laden scenes. And the violence was over-the-top, more like just for the sake of creating some "edgy" shots for the effects crew to play with.
The story offered some interesting parallels to contemporary society, but these also got lost in the endless parade of characters, some who were memorable, most of which weren't.
