I think this movie did everything it intended to do. It felt like a cross between a Terence Malick film and a Sigur Ros music video. It wasn't the greatest thing I've seen in the last year but it was very well executed. They packed a lot in to 1.5 hours and yet it didn't seem rushed. This is probably due to the style of storytelling. The entire film is narrated by the main character who is somewhere around 8 years old. There are several lines of narration that elude to a mature, profound and perhaps mystical interpretation of life that are hard to swallow coming from an 8 year old character. But, these lines fit the story so well that all is forgiven. It's a must see.
