The only joy in this movie is when Clark flashes a brief smile when he first learns how to fly. With the epic fight scenes I don't see how there aren't millions of dead people in Metropolis especially since Superman was halfway around the world when the destruction started. I hated the dark, dark colors on the suit and I hated that Superman was forced to kill General Zod. Oh, and the almost complete lack of chemistry between Superman and Lois Lane. If it had been some other superhero I might not have minded so much but this is Superman. He's better than this, or at least he should be.
Cons too dark

I haven't been this amazed by a movie since Matrix came out. The IMAX version had the high quality image and sound that you expect from an IMAX film. Christopher Nolan is a genius filmmaker and makes wonderfully complex films that engage the viewer's mind rather than require you to turn them off the way that some summer blockbusters do.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Visually Stunning But Strangely Empty

I thought that the movie was visually amazing but I couldn't get involved or emotionally connected to anything because everything was so obviously not real. I did enjoy the movie but it felt somehow empty.
And the racing scenes were more like auto-racing via the Matrix. I saw one reviewer describe it as "car-fu" and I thought that was a pretty accurate description.
Also, I saw it on the IMAX and it didn't seem take advantage of the format. Other than having a larger, in-your-face picture, it wasn't any different than the regular format which I saw two days later. (My nephew wanted to see it too.)
Yes, I recommend this movie.
