Wow! Knocked me off my chair. It was really fun, and worth it just for all of the cool cars, good writing, acting and special effects.
The story is a roller-coaster of fun and you never know what's coming next. It's true that their are elements that are reminiscent of Close Encounters, but rather than feel outmoded, the dynamic works for this film.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Cohen brothers do it again! The entire cast is magnificent. Hailee Steinfeld plays a much more believable character and her acting deserves an Oscar. The cinematography is exquisite.

Really good animation and special effects, but the liberties taken with the story and all the schmaltz added in really took away from what could have been a great movie. The end dragged on and on.
