Great movie in its own right. It did not follow the book very closely and some characters were not developed that were more key in the book. However, it is a great movie and I would encourage anyone to see it - solid portrayal of what is good and evil. I would also encourage reading the entire Narnia series.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
