Ignore the critics, who have standards so high it's amazing any film ever does well. "The Clone Wars" doesn't deserve this level of elitist snobbery. The animation is unique and well-rendered. The plot is straightforward, which allowed the story and the action to blend together well, rather than competing with one another. All the voice actors brought their characters to life, a feat not easily accomplished. The music coordinated perfectly with the sequences in the film. What's not to love? As for the critics: ignore them, you must--for they will only lead you to the dark side...
I do not understand why this movie was given such poor reviews; I liked it quite a bit, and was pleasantly surprised!! Yes, there are special effects/CGI--for this sort of film, you need that. But at heart, it's about someone not selling out, honoring his brother's memory and seeing the bad guy brought to justice...hardly original, but well-executed and not at all difficult to follow. The actors were well-cast; the film was long enough to tell the story without being rushed and therefore made it a better value for the money I spent. My advice: go rent it when it's available and find out for yourself. Hopefully, some justice will be done by favorable DVD sales and perhaps some awards from MTV, et al.
