New Moon was a great deal of fun for my daughter, but I thought it was just okay. The movie continued the saga of the vampires in love and adds the twist of their nemesis the werewolves (wow that sounds like another movie story line, how original). In all the movie was actually entertaining, but I would have to say it is in the category of Chick Flick.
What can you say about Zombieland? Well this is the first movie I have seen in theatres since Young Frankenstein where I laughed out loud in the theater and laughed that much. This movie was great fun. Go see it right away. I can’t say anymore because I might give part of it away.
The Men Who Stared at Goats…what the... I have never sat through a movie where I was more bored in my life. This movie had such tremendous acting talent telling such a bizarre story; the audience should have been rolling in the floor laughing. Unfortunately, the audience was staring at the silver screen in disbelief over how bad this movie was. This movie was bad, do not see it.
2012 has some of the best and most amazing special effects that I have ever seen. The eruption of the caldera beneath Yellowstone was amazing. Unfortunately a movie is not made by special effects alone, it needs acting; which this one was lacking. Okay the whole premise of the world coming to an end is very old hat in the science fiction realm, but they tried it again with the Mayan Calendar angle. Did it work? No! It was simply an overused story of how some survive worldwide disaster. I’ll admit I was entertained, but it wasn’t worth a full priced movie ticket.
The best way I can put it is that this movies was very strange. I couldn’t decide if the movie wanted to be an overly long episode of the Twilight Zone, or if it wanted to be a clever horror film. I think that this since of confusion is what really destroyed the film. The acting was not very good for the caliber of actors who were it. Don’t waste your money on a ticket for this one; rent it when you’re bored at the dollar movie rental.
This was a children’s book that was extremely cute and original that my kids loved for me to read to them. When I heard that the book was going to be made into a movie I wondered how it was going to happen. Well, they change the story and made it fantastic. This is a great movie for the entire family and would be great for a family night out.
Okay we have all heard the phrase “Chick Flick,” and I can only assume that is what these movie makers were going for. Now, before I go any further I have to say I have seen some Chick Flicks that were not all bad; Pretty Woman is a great example. This movie, no, no, no, it was not good in the least bit. Don’t waste a date on this movie.
In several ways this movie was very good. The movie was beautifully made, it was original in the types of characters it presented on the screen, and it had the cast of actors, for the voices, who have real talent. Unfortunately, the movie’s story was extremely weak. It was like the story was just plopped right in front of you and the movie makers wanted us to make it work. Don’t see this one.
What is that smell? Oh, it must the new smell-a-vision movie Final Destination 3D, and boy does it stink!!! None of the Final Destination movies were any good and why I let my son talk me into going to this one is one of the mysteries of the ages. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this movie.
This movie is very much a re-make of the 1990 movie Green Card starring Gérard Depardieu and Andie MacDowell. With that in mind you will see that there is very little original with this movie. Even so this movie is entertaining. It would be a great date movie and that’s about it.
