I agree with most of the other posts. This is not a kids' movie. The story did try to send a message. Love and Peace is the solution, not War. Unfortunately, as a movie, it's slow and boring to begin. The torture of the alien, the invasion, the death of a human being (the sacrifice of the soldier) are not appropriate for young children (under 10). And I really doubt the real message could be delivered to young children anyway. Probably they all went home with the horrible images of invasion and death. Could have been better.
it's worth a watch but we didn't like it that much. Everything is predictable. There are no personalities in the characters and I even think it's teaching kids to behave badly. A very mediocre movie more suitable to watch as a rental.
My son (7) and I loved the movie! Now we want to buy the book and its sequels. I made a point to tell my son that's the power of reading and writing! The happy ending was great!
