Zombie Strippers Review in 5 Sentences or Less

Robert Englund and Jenna Jameson headline this new tangent in the ever expanding horror sub-genre of the Living Dead. It's not just zombies and strippers but ZOMBIE STRIPPERS! Either you want to see this based on the name alone or not. Unlike Snakes On A Plane, this title driven film delivers on all cylinders and does not skimp on the T & A and splatter that are staples of the B class horror film. This is definately a lap dance with a happy ending for the hardcore zombie fan.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Garth Jennings, the director of the 2005 remake of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, brings us an original work that is truly charming and funny. Will and Lee are unlikely friends who strike out to make a film for a BBC film festival which ends up bring in all their classmates and helps repair family wounds while parodying Stallone's First Blood. This may seem like an odd premise for a movie but it really does work and the story tugs on the old heart strings. I look forward to seeing what Jenning's will come up with next for the big screen. Bravo on a fine art house film that all should make time to see.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Strangers Review in 5 Sentences or Less

Home invasion fear is back on the big screen with this new release from Rogue Pictures. Scott Speedman and Liv Tyler have returned home after a night out that did not turn out as they expected and is only a foreshadowing of what is to come. This is an ok film but loses it for me when the victims keep returning to the house when they could just easy walk down the street to get out of their situation as the predators are still in the house. This movie is a rental at best and not worth going to the theater to see unless you are a die-hard fan of horror like myself.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The Wachowski Brothers are batting second on the summer blockbuster roster with their latest anime inspired film. I must admit that I was never a fan of the original cartoon unlike several of my friends who remember it fondly from their childhood. The car is cool and the racing beyond ridiculous but the highlights for me are Christina Ricci and Susan Sarandon as the sexy girlfriend and the ideal mother. The movie was better then I expected but still channels the cartoon vibe to distraction. With a summer full of blockbusters to come, this one may get derailed to the box office pits.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Prom Night Review in 5 Sentences or Less

Brittany Snow is the femme fatale in this re-imagining of the 1980's classic that starred everyone's favorite scream queen, Jamie Lee Curtis. The name and the high school prom setting are the only two things these films have in common. I know a lot of my horror brethren are going to hate me for saying this but this was by far a better film then its ax-wielding predecessor - hands down. It may have the teeny- bopper casting that most all horror movies seem to rely on these days but it’s about a prom - duh! Kudos to director Nelson McCormick for delivering us a believable and scary film that delivers on the real fear of obsession and terror from those who we are suppose to trust.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The follow up to 2005's The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe has made it to the big screen this week. This installment is darker and grimmer as the Pevensie children are recalled to Narnia after a 1300 year sabbatical. The film is larger in scale and channels elements of The Lords of the Rings confirming Tolkien and Lewis as contemporaries. The children's acting has improved this time around but is still a bit stoic. A good family fantasy film to see but be aware of the violence if you are bring small children to the theater.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Al Pacino is the latest star to fall for the gimmick of the real-time event based movie. This movie is a lackluster who-done-it that begs the more appropriate question of who cares. The acting is so wooden you will get splinters. The combined talents of Amy Breeneman, Alicia Witt, Leelee Sobieski, Deborah Kara Unger and William Forsythe cannot help Pacino make this anemic film anything but fodder for the insomniac viewer of late night Cinemax. I looked forward to seeing Leelee on the big screen again but regret it was in this regrettable and hopefully forgettable film.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Adam Sandlar and the familar faces are back in this latest Happy Madison production. Sandler is the infamously disenchanted Israeli Special Forces soldier who longs to be a hair dresser in New York. Unfortunately the premise is not as funny in its execution. The standard gags and humour are here and comes across as played out and worn out. If you are looking for something new here from the Sandler creative team then you will be sadly disappointed.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

PIXAR seems to be able to do not wrong with the release of their latest film staring a lovable, trash-compacting robot who is left alone to clean up the trash of an abandoned Earth. Outside of being a simple love story, the film really hits a home run by it depiction of how the human race has degenerated in a world where everything is done for them - even walking. As always the computer animation is second-to-none and astonishing. If available to you, definately see this film in a theater with digital projection. Great work PIXAR and keep the stories coming!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Kung Fu Panda Review in 5 Sentences or Less

The lastest Dreamworks animated feature gets its voice talents from Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, and Lucy Liu. Po is the panda son of a duck who runs a noodle shop but dreams of being a member of the Furious Five, the kung fu protectors of the valley. The animation is great but not yet as good as PIXAR. The story is engaging and funny and is appropriate for the whole family. Being a Jack Black film per se you know Kyle Gass can not be far away and so he can be found in the credits as the voice of a character named KG Shaw - long live Tenacious D!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
