Stunning Film Transcends Action Movie Genre

If you are expecting a lot of explosions and fight scenes in The Dark Knight, I cannot say you will be disappointed. However, this movie packs more of a haunting psychological impact than any that could be gained by mere action. Heath Ledger is truly stellar as the Joker and his scenes alone are worth the price of admission. There are just a few scene which seem a little superfluous upon further viewings, but they are not likely to detract from the overall excellence of the film experience. Christian Bale is at least adequate, Aaron Eckhart is quite good himself, Gary Oldman is terrific, and all the other supporting actors are near ideal for their roles. This is one of the best films of the year, no question.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
