Just a complete miss that left you cringing for the actors, especially Ms. Streep, who I can't BELIEVE would take part in this nonsense.
Yes, the scenery is beautiful, but the attempt to capture the magic and excitement that you experience at the broadway production is lame at best.
Poor, handsome, loveable, TONE DEAF Pierce.
Good thing Meryl did most of the singing during their shared scenes...
Maybe I was just not in the right mindset, or my expectations were too lined up with the stage performance, but this was a true disappointment.
I don't think I'd even recommend to "wait 'til it comes out in DVD".
