I can think of no more alluring a combination than Patricia Clarkson photographed against the exotic cosmopolitanism of Cairo, a city that I have always dreamt of visiting. Add to that the mysterious, smoldering sex appeal of Alexander Siddig and you have a visual effect that I found impossible to turn away from. Each frame, each subtle nuance, every emotion is exquisitely portrayed in a way that I think would appeal more to women. I have always felt that women are far more attuned to the emotional body than we men are. I stand to be corrected if that is not so. For me personally, the easy paced subtleties of emotion and expression make viewing this film more a meditation than an entertainment. Perhaps, ultimately, that has greater value. Most of my male companions found the film a boring travelogue. Too bad!
