We have been looking forward to seeing this film for the past three months--and when we saw it yesterday afternoon on opening day we were not disappointed. The script was witty... the acting was superb and the production design was wonderful. We have already started recommending this film to our friends. What a treat!
SUNSHINE CLEANING is a truthful window onto the lives of a group of people each one of whom is doing the best he or she can with what he or she has. It is in turn poignant and ruefully humorous and shows flawed people trying to get by in their daily lives. It succeeds beautifully on every level. Yes, there are some images and scenes and actions that would be disturbing to children under thirteen so I would caution parents to leave the kids and kiddies at home.
My friend and I were bowled over by all the marvelous performances in the film. We have not seen a film so physically beautiful to watch since Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon. It was a deeply satisfying film experience.
