This is the best movie I have seen in a very long time. The story is compelling, the script excellent, and the acting superb! Colin Firth and Helen Bonham Carter both give nuanced and moving performances. It is a serious movie with moments of humor. As I've only seen occasionally at the many movies I've seen in theatres, the audience applauded at the end.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

"Country Strong" was an okay movie--not great, not horrible. The acting is good, but the story is only average. And the ending (which I'll not give away) seems to be done to unncessarily manipulate our emotions and doesn't match the title or the rest of the movie. (Thanks to my adult daughter who saw it with me for that assessment!).
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Meryl Streep was great, as always, and Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were funny. This movie will appeal most to women "of a certain age."
