"The Wrestler" is easily one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. The focus on Mickey Rourke, it turns the movie almost into a one-man show, and throughout the movie, you don't care. Yes, Marissa Tomei does well, and Evan Rachel Woods performance makes the best use of the little screen time she gets, but Rourke is the perfect character. I grew up watching professional wrestling, so this "reality" bent is even more awe-striking. If this isn't an Oscar WINNING role, I have not seen one.
This is one of the most intriguing and creative stories I've ever seen. It should receive a lot of nods for the screenplay. Despite the length, it doesn't really drag, and it is an easy film to follow while still remaining intricate. Great film!!!
