While I can see why some took points off for too much violence, too slow, too .. whatever, my wife and I enjoyed this film from start to finish. We're Chicagoans, of course, so this is like history. It was also fun guessing the locations and how the visual effects removed much of the modernization of the scenes. It's definitely not for kids.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
