In preparation I rented the original from 1951 and watched it to make sure that Icould see where they strayed from it. In many ways this is the same movie the come to earth and seem to project peace and we over react, and refuse to listen, but given the opportunity in the end we are give a second chance. The updated version offers a more in depth perspective as to the story line and the choice of actors made the movie. Jaden Smith is an excellent foil to an already bland alien played by Keanu Reeves, and John Cleese for the brief moment he is seen brings not only levity, but a caring that is needed. all in all a very good take on a great science fiction classic.
Wall-e is a great movie on three levels. first as with all Pixar movies the animation is first rate the attention to detail including the om age T-Rex from Toy story in Wall-e's home. The comedy is great because it can be enjoyed by both young and old. The third thing is the Story line and its message in the this time of increased demand on our world by our culture of more, more, more we really need to get a picture of the impact we will have on our planet and future as a species, this movie shows one possible out come. the reservations I have is that, thought is gives a uplifting out come at the end it is kind of depressing and might make some kids sad, but hey perhaps we need to bee hit in the head kind of hard theese days to see the point.
This was a really well done movie. Like all Indiana movies this one flowed really well ties together really well and was intelligent. Harrison Ford Still has the magic and is helped to life with the support of a wonderful cast. The whole crystal Scull topic is very hot right now with the coming of 2026 the end of the Mayan calender. great timing and well done..
