I absolutely loved it! The plot, the cast, the production design all were great fun and artistically first class.

Hey, it's a Comic Book Movie! The hero had a great bod and radiated sincerity. The supporting cast was excellent. So the villain's scary face was silly (putty). You can't win 'em all. It could have used more comedy but all in all it was a good summer movie with a nice stylized take on World War II. But if you are looking for another "Remains of the Day"...

Opera fan - yes. Cirque fan - yes. Ring fan - not really. But this performance was truly fascinating. All the singing and most of the acting was top of the line... especially Mime and the Rhine maidens. Fine camera work and backstage coverage. From the first bars of the Prelude the set and lights/projections were Hi-tech magic. I definitely look forward to the next installment.
