Clearly based on the Madoff scandal, this movie was filled with clever humor. Eddie Murphy was in great form. Ben Stiller was a great foil for Eddie. The supporting cast 9Casey Afflec, Matthewk Broderick) were amusing and brought their "every day guy caught up in a heist" roles to life very well. Tea Leoni as an FBI agent and Gabourey Sidibe as a Jamaican maid added to the comedic mix ws And of course old pro Alan Alda was spot on as the Madoff character. Nothing earth shaking but if you're up for a truly clever & funny movie, I'd see it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Annette Benning, Naomi Watts, and Kerry Washington were all superb. They made their pain palpable and there were elements of their lives to which most women can relate. There were plot contrivances but because the movie was so outstanding overall I could overlook them. There might be some for whom the film would be too 'maudlin' but I thought that it was right on the money emotionally.
Original & engaging. A British HS senior with aspirations to go to Oxford is seduced by a con artist and his lifestyle in nightclubs, concerts, and trips to Paris. Wonderful acting all around, especially by the young lead.
This movie nicely satired what our political process has become; candidates trying to protray themselves in such a way that they court every demographic and forget about scruples or values. "Swing Vote" managed to convey this point in a clever and humorous way. There was also poignancy in the personal story of Bud (Costner's character), his daughter Molly, and Molly's absentee mother. The movie did become a bit maudlin & lost it's edge but overall it was well done & well acted by a terrific starring & supporting cast.
