Star Trek - NOT!

If this is the best that the Star Trek franchise can produce then Star Trek as we have known it, is done. Roddenberry must be rolling in his grave with the new release. Labelled the "new vision of the greatest space adventure of all time", it lacks the telltale symbolism of space as the greatest & final frontier. There is no sense of adventure, no exploration, no discovery and no widening of horizons. Aside from the obvious reference to former character names, the linkage is poor. Star Fleet's mission is to go "where no one has gone before". This movie unfortunately goes where many have gone and is a pale imitation of what has gone before. If this is new vision of the UFP with peaceful coexistence then the Federation is no more.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
