I have been a fan of Star Trek since the original television show and love the movies. It was quite obvious to me that the characters really studied the series and the movies for the little mannerisms that fans have come to love. Chekov's inability to speak certain letters, Kirk's glare, Spock's eyebrow raise and "fascinating." I thoroughly enjoyed how all the characters were introduced into the plot. The action sequences were teriffic. This movie is great escapism. Go see this movie! We took our 16 y.o. niece who knows nothing about Star Trek. She enjoyed it just for what it was, without understanding all the background. Finally, that they added a cameo of Leonard Nimoy was wonderful!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
