from the greatest B movie star of our generation! Was it campy? Yes. Was is violent? Of coarse. Was it the greatest movie I'd ever seen?! Well...it was the greatest movie I'd seen that day...starring Bruce Campbell...made in the last 10 years. Honestly the film has a ton of flaws, but never takes itself seriously enough to matter. It was a ton of fun to watch and Bruce's live introduction was hilarious except for damn drunk a--hole that kept interrupting him...sorry guys there were $1 drafts at the Ugly Tuna. In conclusion I would highly recommend this film to fans of Bruce, horror, or just looking to spend an hour and a half not thinking about how much you life sucks.
This will be more of a word of warning for parents then an actual review of the film. As an adult who grew up loving Batman I can easily say this is the best telling of one of his stories put on film. If you love Batman or even if you're just a fan of action crime drama, you will love this film.
However, for parents with young children that wish to see this film I suggest they screen it themselves first and make the decision if their children should see it yet. This is a violent film..not excessive but, disturbing. Through out the movie Batman is forced to make choices that are not as simple as right and wrong, they more the lesser of two evils type choices. This has dire consequences for the main characters and changes them as the film progresses. It is also a long film with adult themes that may leave those with shorter attention spans a little restless.
Don't take my review as negative, I loved this movie more than I can say. In this day and age though when movies seem to be made to sell toys, they are marketing to the wrong demographic.
