I liked this movie, but the best parts were with the whole group of friends but the last 1/2 of the movie was way too much of just the two main characters. After laughing a lot the first half, there were almost no laughs in the second half. And the ending was entirely predictable. It felt like "When Harry Met Sally" all over again, but with a child involved. It was an enjoyable movie, but it could've been SO much better.
There were some VERY funny moments in this movie, but overall I found it slow (and it was only 1 3/4 hours.) The cast was terrific and I thought the acting was outstanding, but the plot didn't hold together for me and the pacing was tough. I'm not sorry I saw it, but after reading such great reviews, I was disappointed.
I was luke warm about seeing this movie, but was completely surprised by how GREAT it was! I've always liked Sandra Bullock, but she wasn't her perky, smily self in this. She was a serious actress dealing with real issues. It reminded of the great job she did in "Crash." I thought she was fantastic. And the story is appealing to people of all ages. It's been out a while and the theatre was still packed. I recommend it (and already have) to everyone!
I loved this book but thought the movie was also really good. It's an incredibly difficult story to bring to the screen, but so are MOST stories! The acting was superb; the suspense was palpable and it was thoroughly entertaining. I did find it upsetting (I have young daughters) and found that some images really stuck with me. But both my husband and I really enjoyed it. It is too long (editing could've been tighter) but this is not a reason to miss this film. I definitely recommend it.
With all the sadness, discouragement and divisiveness going on in the world today, this is a FANTASTIC reminder of what great leadership can do. It's a wonderful story of putting the past behind you and moving forward for the good of the country. I recommend it highly!
I really enjoyed this movie. It was well-acted (especially by Ledger) and well-written. Lots of great special effects and a lot of fun. Could've been tighter in the editing (dragged at the end) and should've been 20 minutes shorter. It was an experience!
So often action movies are either so over the top they're annoying or so poorly written/acted that you don't enjoy them. "Iron Man" was the exception in every way! Robert Downey Jr. was the perfect action hero/leading man and with the exception of a weak Gwyneth Paltrow, the cast was excellent. I recommend you see it soon! Kick back and enjoy!
I went in with very low expectations, as the other reviews I read were pretty scathing. But I actually enjoyed it more that I expected to. There were some funny moments, some cute dialogue and Clooney and Krasinski were charming, as always. Not a movie I'd need to see again, but I didn't feel I'd thrown my money away. I'd recommend to someone as long as they don't expect too much!
