Critics are just people that are paid to write their opinions, so don't put too much stake on what they say. This movie is great and left me wishing they release a third. If you loved the series, the movies are a must see. Great plot. These ladies may be older, but they get better with age. Their characters continue to develop into funny, lovable, sophisticated women in new and different ways. This movie is PROOF that there is life after a series and a first motion picture for a concept and 4 of the most beloved television characters of all time. It was a pleasant surprise seeing Aidan and Smith make cameos; however, I could have done without Liza [sorry to the Stanfords and Anthonies out there-lol].
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I want to start off by saying that I LOVE Jen Aniston and like Gerard Butler. However, together they have ZERO chemistry. I believe they must have been doing it off screen to have such horrible chemistry on-screen. It's def. the Gigli [Lopez/Afflect] curse. Even if I wanted to overlook this, the plot and script were horrible. If they would have made this a more funny, sexy romantic comedy, it would have been a much better movie to watch. Instead, the writer and director ATTEMPTED [and FAILED] to put into place a strange, not fully explained second plot involving a murder that left me wondering "Why bother?" It did not add to or compensate for the horrible storyline. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because I am an Aniston fan.
I am a die-hard fan and I would pretty much love this movie no matter what it ended up being like. I will list the pros and cons. First the pros: 1) great girl's night out movie-- went to see it with 4 of my friends and it was so much fun, 2) funny and endearing [just like the series], 3) despite it being a movie and the series ending 4 years ago, it truly felt like I was watching an episode on HBO. Being a movie did not take away from the authentic SATC qualities that made this series great, 4) this movie was worth the wait, 5) Despite the 2 hrs. 15 mins. run time, it really did not feel that long. The movie really pulls you in. If you are a true SATC fan, you probably wish the movie was even LONGER! CONS: 1) VERY predictable... I felt myself longing for one twist, one surprise, and I just didn't get it, 2) It left me wanting more. It took me years to get used to SATC not being an active series and then this movie comes out and I am all depressed again wishing they would just continue where they left off. Maybe this isn't truly a con as much as it is a feeling, but the feeling is a con for me. lol
