We went with our twins (11yrs). One had read the book and the rest of us hadn't. Though my son said there were some changes to the story, he still liked it. The rest of us enjoyed the movie as well.

I took my 10 year old Son and Daughter and one of their friends to see this movie and we all really liked it. It has something for everyone. We still laugh about some of the scenes when we talk about them.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
