I hardly ever watch horror movies...they are either too cliche or just down right stupid. For some reason, this movie tweaked my interest.
The story itself is good...in fact Im a little embarrassed, but I thought the story line was a good "Stephen King" type thriller. Secluded near water in the North East...what more do you need?
So the story develops and is easily predicted at every turn. This is where I was disappointed. I was hoping for more suspense.
The last portion of the movie is really the best.
Overall, an "ok" movie...since it is horror and I am normally anti-horror, I will say its an average movie.
Look...if you are going to see this movie expecting oscar nomination material...then you are silly.
If you go into this movie expecting to see an action packed "tongue in cheek" thriller, then you have come to the right place.
Leading actor Jason Statham mixes butt kicking, comedy and adventure to enterain for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Of course most of it (if not all of it) is unbelievable, but come on...its a movie. Are you going to be angry about Batman or Captain Kirk?
Bottom line, this is a good Saturday afternoon movie to catch. You will laugh and enjoy yourself for about 90 minutes. But...dont go into the theater expecting to see Ben-Hur, or you WILL be disappointed.
I found this movie to be a good suspense and action movie. Some of the story lines and sub plots have been done before, but overall was a satisfying flick.
The mixture of newspaper and blogging was well done, but the stupid "get in the way" mentality of the editor was boring. Come on...no one acts like this anymore.
I have to say, I was very surprised that I enjoyed this movie.
I took my daughter (who loved it!) and thought I would have to endure a stupid movie. But it was actually very well written, a good story and enjoyable for kids and from an adult perspective.
There were a couple of dopey things but overall it was a fun movie safe for family.
I went into the movie with an open mind but quickly turned into a mega-chick flick. It wasnt a bad story, but it could have been done better...much better. All 3 ladies are perfectly beautiful!
The two leads, Seth and James are excellent together. I loved it. The big surprise to me was Danny McBride. That is one funny cat. He is suddenly in everything (see Tropic Thunder).
