Happy that I hadnt seen MOON before this movie or it would have blown the whole plot completely! Unfortunately my son did see that movie, and was bored to death throughout since he expected the big twist right from the start.
As a middle aged mom, I didn't mind the slow pacing to allow for some character development. Teenage boys were annoyed! The little ship that Tom Cruise flies is really intriguing -- loved it.
There were quite a few moments where I thought, wow that was ridiculous. No one would do that, say that, think that. And there were holes in the plot - I wonder if they cut out a whole section with Morgan Freeman!
Of course, there were terribly cliche moments, but I'm a sucker for happy moments so all was good. And I have to admit that I was invested enough in the characters to get choked up at the end...
Definitely worth watching as a rental, if we could go back in time we wouldn't have paid to see it in the theater.
Pros cool scifi
Cons weak plot, plot holes
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Ridiculous, hole filled story. Great camera work and special effects though.

Left with more questions than I started with! Was this 1/2 a movie or 5 different ones sliced together?
What's with alien dude drinking black dna breaking liquid? How does bad actress give herself a caesarean and then run around? What's with references to faith and souls and never following up on it? Why did android aryan dude give the black liquid to archeologist? Why do archeologists know to stimulate brain and fool it into thnking it's alive? Why does it explode? Why is the old guy SO OLD? OMG!
I need to watch Alien tonight to renew my faith in the sci fi genre.
Fun, exciting ride through the comics come to life!

4-1/2 our of 5 stars! What a blast! Hysterical at times, lots of exciting action with incredible visuals. The action got a tad monotonous near the end which made me drop the rating to a 4 (wish that 4-1/2 was available!).
The superheroes are uber cool and I LOVE the intelligent, wry humor and presentation by the Hulk actor. Iron Man is obnoxious and hysterical and Hawkeye intriguing. Wish we saw more of him as a good guy! Captain America -- yay! Black Widow was a great female lead and the scene with her talking with Loki --- love, love, love how that worked out.
Pepper Pots was useless and I am not sure why she was part of this movie. She was reduced to a shallow bimbo kind of role - not the intelligent and organized female counterpart from Iron Man movies. Disappointed!
Watch for the Stan Lee cameo, see a hint to a future movie at the end and then stay after the credits for an amusing bit. The Soundgarden track is worth staying for anyway!
Smash!
Pros great actors, funny, excellent costumes
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Love this film. The CG work was incredible - the main chimp character was completely believable and I fell for him completely. Had to root for him even though I knew it would be the downfall of the human race... The premise behind the switch from human to simian control of the world really worked.
