A rollicking ride

i was prepared to enjoy this move, and was not disappointed. If you have any interest in the world of dreams, this one's for you. Not academy award material, but a thoroughly enjoyable summer flick!

A very good, quality film. Plot driven, but very memorable characters. Head and shoulders against ant of the other "made for the lowest denominator" movies out there now.

Good but not Great

Shutter Island is a very watchable movie, however, if you're expecting a thriller with a real unexpected twist re---The Sixth Sense or A Beautiful Mind, you wil be disappointed. The major roles are very well acted, and the cinematography is great, but the plot is not a winner.

A very compelling story and superb acting job by Rourke. The characters are developed enough so that you understand their misspent lives. A real "slice of life" movie!

I was not anticipating this movie to be as compelling as it turned out to be. Great characters and gripping story line. It's like reading a really good book!

Not advertised correctly

This is a real old fashioned love story that leaves you feeling good after a movie for a change. The acting, except for the child, is not great, but the story is captivating and well done. Has a "Gone With the Wind" feel (although, obviously, not of the same caliber). The 40's treatment to the whole thing is a nice twist. Derfinitely worth seeing.
I've seen both Kidman and Jackman promote the film several times, and never once did either of them mention the story line. They should have.

The Dark Knight

An outstanding, outstanding acting job by the late Heath Ledger! Not a really "great" movie, but certainly "good", and well worth seeing. It holds together based, a great deal, on the fact that there are very familiar faces at every turn. Well done.
