has an "indie" feel to it, at least a new storyline, and a reasonable cast of talent...that being said, storyline almost feels compressed, hurrying through the important moments, just to get back to the roller action...This is another in a long line of recent films which asks you to suspend disbelief and assume at 5' tall, Juno could dominate this underground sport which is really as legit as pro wrestling....get past that, and you'll be fine....
although better than the davinci code(not saying much), you have to fully suspend any plausible reality to enjoy this film, much like you would when watching any action film, such as crank, indiana jones, or national treasure...in fact, national treasure a good comparison, where one guy simply looks at a key and figures out a secret clue, and races across town in the nick of time.....once ok, but 2 dozen times in a row, really???
this movie is not as good as match point but light years better than Scoop...told from interesting point of view, keeps you entertained all the way through....not going to win any awards, but a good diversion from all the other big box movies out there this summer...
15 years in development? How many people people passed on the lead role? They were all smarter than me, this movie is not very entertaining and rarely gave the audience reason to laugh. I'm typically a Clooney and Halpert fan, which is what suckered us in (along with the endless promotions), however, 10 minutes in and you know you're in for a long evening...Story never develops, zelleweger has lost all her charm, and what could have been, turns into what should have been right about the moment you realize the funniest moments were in the previews.
