OK, the SFX are first-rate, but that's a requirement for any summer 'adventure' movie. The story is a mess, the characters predictable, and the only marginally credible acting is done by Robert Downey Jr. Geez, what a shock the bald guy with the weird beard is evil. Who woulda thunk it?! A Taliban group that's just vague enough not to offend people? How shockingly original! The terrorist is left alive, do I smell sequel? Paltrow is wasted and the movie is about 20 minutes too long. Plus, it's a 2-hour plus long infomercial for Audi, Dell, etc. If you want to beat the heat and watch some nice CGI, I guess this is an option. If you want to see a well-crafted movie, you'll be looking at your watch about 90 minutes in waiting for this thing to end.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
