This movie was a lot of fun. I attended with my mother and my daughters ages 8 and 10. They were absolutely mesmorized. The story is much different than the Alice story that we are familiar with, with a now adult Alice returning to the nonsensical land of her childhood, though she does not remember her previous visit. The Red Queen has taken over Underland and her tyranny has turned Underland into a darker land where a band of renegades are preparing to remove the Queen from ther throne and restore their freedom. With meticulous detail the 3-D tale comes to brilliant life and is a very enjoyable way to spend two hours
Stop motion in 3D was a great idea. Everything was just so vivid. entertaining, and creepy! I attended the film with my 54 year old mother, and my 9, 7, and 4 year old childred. They weren't scared at all. When we walked out of the theater my 7 year old said, "I have to be careful what I wish for!" It was really a great time, and just a story that was very different and presented in the most imaginitive way possible.
This movie was truly worth the price of admission and then some. You can see that a lot of work went into the finely polished final product that blasts its way onto the screen. There is really something for everyone, and lots of action that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The intesity is unbelievable and the acting is incredible. Heath Ledger's Joker is truly an amazing performance that will be long remembered. I also greatly enjoyed the performances from this stellar cast. I thought that Christian Bale did a great job as the tormented caped crusader. He constantly struggles with making the right decision and doing what is right for the good of everyone. Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckart, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Maggie Gyllenhall, all show us new depths of the supporting cast in comic book movies. All in all the acting, suspense and cinematography make for a nailbiting, heart-stopping, darn good time.
