I took my mother to see this and both of us loved it. My mother tends to fall asleep during movies, but this time she said it was so exciting that she couldn't sleep! I am a 'Next Generation' Trekkie was so unfamiliar with the characters (and I refuse to sit thru the original Star Trek episodes), however, I really enjoyed the intro to the characters and their interactions. I am now a complete fan of Spock! I was very impressed with Quinto in this portrayal, and his acting gave serious credilibility to the nerdy looking, serious dude with the pointy ears! Live long and prosper!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
