I thought that it was excellent. It resisted the temptation to go over the top and Clooney's expressions said volumes.

It's good to see a movie that is about life, not special effects. I was engaged all the way through. If I had one criticism, I would have preferred for Ree to be more of a sleuth solving a mystery and I could have done without the "hand scenes," but with the dearth of movies that I like, I was quite pleased with Winter's Bone.
Intriguing, sometimes confusing, but woven together well. As with all pseudo-documentary, it's difficult to know what is fact and what is fiction, but the implied criticism of runaway capitalism is apparent yet subtle and the role of a mentally curious informant makes it most interesting.
