With the amazing Romain Duris and Niels Arestrup, an improbable story that nevertheless grabs you because of the smart layers of irony and great direction. An intelligent film.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A very fun thriller, a tad obvious and mechanical but with great acting by Ludivine Saignier and Kristin Scott Thomas.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Good Satire is Hard To Find

And this one is a keeper, although it feels a bit sitcomish in structure, and a bit long, as if scenes were added to fill out the minutes needed for a feature. Yet, In The Loop is super well written, magnificently acted by a wonderful cast and extremely well directed by Armando Iannucci. It's a relentless satire about inventing a case for war between Britain and the US (most people are in it basically to advance their careers).
The film is a movie about the abuse and the corruption of language. The people in power use the most abject profanity to intimidate themselves, safe as they are out of the reach of the public. But when it comes to communicating to us suckers, it's all about obfuscation and lying. Very funny and disturbing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
