Suspension of disbelief aside, I found the movie a fun ride with good special effects, good action, some comic relief and some decent performances. I'd put it in the same category as Con Air (another action flick w/John Cusack), although 2012 didn't have quite as many big-time stars in it as Con Air (which had Malkovich, Buscemi, Cage, and a couple of others). Woody Harrelson was entertaining in this. If you like action flicks in general, this is a good one and worth seeing on a giant screen. If you hate action flicks, don't bother. If you're in between, it's your call whether to wait for DVD or TV.
Great movie. Did the impossible job of fitting enough story & maintaining the impact of the book. The ending was changed, but in a way that worked perfectly with the story. Do NOT take kids to this one--the violence is graphic & brutal. There is also some nudity & adult language. I expected to hate the soudtrack, but no--it worked well. The acting was good, although Jackie Earle Hailey was on another level compared to everyone else. Story is completely unlike most super hero stories--major blurring of the line between good and evil, and very flawed characters.
They did a great job on this old Marvel comic hero

I was never the biggest fan of the Iron Man comic books as a kid, but they really did a fantastic job with this movie. I was extremely impressed by it on all levels--acting/casting, characters, action, special effects and story. It looked and sounded killer, and I really was sucked into the plot. Go see it on the big screen.
