Goes Beyond Your Average Comic Book Fare

I'll be honest; I had my reservations going into this movie. In my opinion, one goes to a Batman movie for the villains, as much as the title character. That being said, I didn't think anyone could portray the Joker better than Jack Nicholson. Thankfully, I was sorely mistaken. Heath Ledger is absolutely brilliant. But just as brilliant are his A-List costars. The action sequences are spectacular, but the dialogue scenes (especially those between Batman and Joker) are inspired. For those interested in a simple comic book movie, this movie will not disappoint. However, for those who are interested in the idea of absolute good versus absolute evil, this film could serve as the subject of a doctoral thesis.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
