I am please to say this movie did it again. Most production companies, after the original movie, try to make sequals, but fail to entertain, teach, and organize the sequence of a film. The crew, not just the director, producers, and cast, did a wonderful job in creating and intertwining human emotions to inanimate objects. Great for children and all the children in all of us.
I am not sure why many people who have reviewed this movie have been so negative, but I'm pretty sure they were not expecting an oscar winning movie. Like all of Ferrell's movies, this lacks much thickness in plot. The comical parts are lame, and it isn't the greatest film around, but what it is worth, it is a Will Ferrell movie, and like most of his movies (unlike Winter Passing) it is a long SNL skit. What does one expect, when he did SNL for such a long time. For any Ferrell fan, it is a movie to see. I enjoyed the sci-fi factor, since I do enjoy most sci-fi films, even the cheesy ones. If anyone is looking for a good laugh, skip this film. Like I said, don't expect an Oscar film. Just enjoy it for what it is worth.
Like pixar has been doing since the begining, with the touch of Disney, Up is an exceptional film for all families. Up starts similarly like the incredible (which in my opinion, was not the best Pixar movie), but catches itself, before it gets lost in a thin story line. The first few minutes are cute, but weary of some tear jerking scenes. The movie lacks 3D nature, so don't worry if the theater does not have 3D capabilities. The plot thickes as the movie continues, and is very good. As for original, the creation of the art is original, but to truely have an original story is very had to do today. All in all, it is worth the watch, especially with someone dear to you.
Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian, lacks many of the better points of the first. The views of DC and the Smithsonian brought many thoughts of childhood, but the story happened to be weak. Like the original, there are many historic figures, but these characters were more silly than serious. In the original, the humor linked itself to the storyline, but the humor for the second became very lackluster after a few minutes. In general, it is a decent family movie.
