The plot is from a 1950's type western.
Land barons want Indian land. U.S. Calvary comes in to force indians to flee. Indians resist, call in other tribes. It's The Little Bighorn all over again. Reminds me of yhe first 3D movie I ever saw "the Charge at Feather River"
Maybe it is another Hollywood remake. Seems like all we get these days.

Imax saved this rather tame remake.
I would have preferred that they stayed closer to the original screenplay, Gort turning into a swarm of all consuming metal insets was dumb. One of the best scenes in the original was when Gort picks up the body of The ailen and carrys him into the space ship. The remake's ending is disappointing.
