Movies are never as complete as the book. They're not long enough, but this one was as good as any movie to follow a book. I enjoy the fact that the mood was lightened a bit after #5 even though the backstory is grim. The evolution of the relationships was tender and sweet compared to many heavy handed films of today. The fact that the human story had a bit of humor in it made the dramatic changes much more startling. Half the audience in the center section jumped out of their seats and then had to laugh at themselves because they were so startled at one point. I had a very good time. Because the special effects were so good, I'd like to see it in 3D.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
