The movie Brüno has a lot of nerve (if you don't want to say balls). As with Borat, the movie's humor is based on shocking the viewer. And shock it does. Well enough such that for liberated folks it will be fondly remembered as an equal to Borat (though it does come off a tad bit more staged than Borat, it is perhaps more shocking). Cohen is literally putting his life on the line for his brand of ridicule and absurd over-the-top sensationalism. But neither movie wears well on second viewing as so much depends on that shock to get your gut to laugh out loud. So if you are interested in the movie, see it soon before you have heard all about it at the water cooler. The reaction of the unknowing audience is definitely worth the exhibition!
