As a Star Trek fan for several decades, I had great expectations for this movie. Unfortunately, it did not deliver the goods. Was it entertaining? Yes. But , for me, it did not capture the soul of previous Star Trek endeavors.
Here are some reasons why without spoiling the show ... Captain Kirk - too reckless ... Mr. Spock - too emotional ... the storyline - focused more on action sequences than an intelligent and thought provoking story.
In the end, as stated previously, it was entertaining ... but I don't believe Gene Roddenberry would approve.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
