No surprrises here! Politics as we know it. The cast is excellent. The film itself is well directed. I think the film presents the side of politics most degradable and it really doesn't matter which party is depicted how (we all know Clooney's political preferences) ... both parties employed similar tactics. A sorry state of affairs, indeed! But you can't fault the film for the story it chose to tell. It obviously didn't sugar coat anything nor did it reveal anything we don't suspect goes on. Shame on us.
Movie was well acted and the storyline was engrossing. I've heard there were inaccuracies, but whatever they were did not lessen the movie's appeal. Jonah Hill was exeptional and Brad Pitt is never difficult to watch! In fact, the entire cast deserves accolades. Don't know if it is the best sports movie of all time, but it is surely intriguing and worth seeing.
Agree with previous reviewers. This movie was not up to expectations, yet entertaining.. But if you liked the characters in earlier movies, you have a chance to see most of them again. Depp, Rush, Cruz deliver as usual. Movie dragged in parts. The mermaids picked up the pace!
Matt Damon and Emily Blount were believable and great together. Action keeps you involved, wondering how in the world is this going to turn out. Who is The Chairman!?! A little "far out" if you take it at face value and don't try to "read" its symbolism.
I wasn't really excited about seeing the movie (it was the only one playing that I hadn't seen that wasn't cartoon-charactered or horror!). But I'm so glad I did! The film was moving and beautifully acted by an excellent cast. I found myself (with the rest of the audience) cheeering for Big Red, even though, of course, we all knew the ending! And, not to give anything away, the cameo of a very important person made the movie even more poignant.
