This is really a great movie. Generally, I am not a fan of science fiction. With that said, I did really like it a lot.
The story is interesting...a little predictable, but the Na'vi culture provides some twists.. It was visually amazing. The 3D experience made it even better. The forest is amazing with the plants and the effects.
It was a little long and could have been tightened up with some editing. It was clear that there were some scenes that were left in just because they looked cool. My boredom was quickly relieved as the action picked back up.
Most of the time, I leave movies thinking that I could have enjoyed it just as much at home, but this is a movie that deserves to be seen on the big screen.
It is a truly average movie. It wasn't super funny (there were some funny parts), super sexy, super surprising, or super in any other way. It generated some interesting conversation after the movie, so it is fun for a couple to see. I didn't think the movie was that vulgar. It was a little raunchy, but I saw the Hangover last weekend and THAT was raunchy (and MUCH funnier). This one can definitely wait for DVD, but if you are at a loss for a movie to see for a date, it'll work.
This movie will make you smile. The actors do a great job, and the movie has some hysterical moments. Even if you aren't into the whole musical movie thing, the story is good and the songs are fun. The actors obviously had a good time making it. It is especially nice for moms and daugters to see together. I am not sure most guys would like it, but it is one of the best girls' night out movies you could pick. See it and have some fun!
