My boys loved this movie. My 6 year old loves Star Wars. If you are a true fan from the 70's you might not like this movie if you have high expectations.
Take it as a cartoon with great computer work with lots of fighting! I think it is just geared to kids to grow the market share in merchendising and give them a new taste of the Star Wars to come.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

My 3 year old and 5 year old loved it. They laughed so much. The only down side is that they are sounding like Wall.E! My husband chuckled here and there and I thought it was too cute.
