If you don't like political language, old english - you'll find this hard to follow but that aside - excellent! I learned a lot about the 13th Amendment . Daniel Day Lewis is really incredible! He is as Lincoln as you can imagine Lincoln to be. A very believable performance that doesn't seem at all like a performance. Sally Field did a wonderful job as Mary Todd. Her strain seemed very real and knowing Sally's bright personality, she really played Mary Todd well. You understood Mary Todd and the limits of the day. All the acting was excellent, sets excellent down to the lace curtains! All the lesser known actors were fantastic. My only complaint was that Tommy Lee Jones seemed like he was playing Tommy Lee Jones and his make up around the eyes didn't seem real. The war scenes were realistic and sad.
