I was unpleasantly surprised at the total lack of meaningful plot or any depth to hold my attention for such a long film. To me it was a complete waste of my time and that of the talented cast, but at least they got paid for it. Dazzling special effects are a dime a dozen these days, and without them, in my estimation, there was no merit to the entire movie.
I'm not naive, I expected bloody violence, foul language and blatant sexual content, but with a strong cast I also expected to be emotionally involved and thoroughly interested in the interwoven stories and the outcome. Instead I found it much too endlessly loud, gratuitously violent, numbingly repetitious and completely lacking in interesting content. In short, I couldn't care less what happened to each of the characters
If you're hooked on feel good romance and glowing Hollywood endings this isn't your movie. The acting is sharp and real but the realistic theme leaves you feeling a little sad and deflated about the realities of life.
