I really enjoyed reading Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games Trilogy. I was concerned like many readers of how much they would have to sacrifice to translate the books into the movie. I'm happy to report that this first translation went GREAT !! Saw it in IMAX and the hand-held camera effect could sometimes get dizzying. Casting was spot-on. Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland were not my first choices, but they brought facets to their characters that I hadn't imagined. The behind scenes inside the Games control room was an inspired addition not in the book. Keep it up and I'll keep coming back.
Seth Rogen said it all at the Golden Globes as far as seeing Kate Beckinsale as Selene again. The storyline was predictable and a sequel is obviously in the works. Still worth a look.
Never been squeamish about breaking an egg until now. Movie had it's moments that went beyond the trailers. Rather twisted interpretation of the golden goose, but otherwise a fun film to watch. P in B II will probably end up straight to video. I expect that Donkey will also get his own film.
Predictable, campy and very little plot, but well worth the matinee price. Low expectations going in, so I wasn't disappointed. Suspend your disbelief of the advanced mechanisms the characters use (airships, hidden compartments, specialty guns etc), sit back and enjoy the swordplay. Oh and the dialogue is a bit cheesy at times, so focus on Milla whenever possible.
Fun film and great country remakes of many of the original songs. Too bad Kevin Bacon didn't make a cameo. Who would have thought that line dancing could look so cool ?
Dakota Goyo and Atom totally dominated this movie. Evangeline Who ? Wasn't that boxer Wolverine ? Seriously, excellent film. Great fight scenes. A Robot Rocky without a doubt. I can already see Real Steel II: Origin of Atom revealed and second match with Zeus. Really, Rocky fights Apollo and Atom fights Zeus ? Similariites, oh I think so and don't care. Go see this film !!
A sizzlingly hot 10 and Chris Evans wasn't hard on the eyes either. You know who will end up with who, but won't care. It's all about the journey and the journey is hilarious. Anna has fully mastered the in your face humor normally dominated by men and her comedic timing is spot on. I was hoping /expecting that she was going stage an intervention on Bandit's behalf.
What an awesome rollercoaster ride ! From the depths of grief to the crazy gryations of the train wreck & ensuing chase and ending in the wonderous sky gazing, this film has it all. Go see it !!
