Stallone returns with another mind-blowing addition to the Rambo series with this marvelous action film. The story doesn't require much of elucidation as it's kept just simple to give grounds to a tremendous action movie to follow. If you're up for sheer violence that Stallone exactly personifies as Rambo, this could get up the top of your action lists. Watch it.
The Hunger Games came in as a surprise right after the Twilight series to sweep the box office to another successful franchise. I wasn't a big fan of the book so I decided to wait for the last week of showing to watch it. A big disappointment. A very poor and flimsy direction became the foremost reason for this movie to fall beyond unexpected expectation. The cinematography is rickety and trembling throughout the film which makes it difficult to maintain a glaring eye contact during action scenes and dialogue. The movie was actually supposed to have some action that it totally missed. Of course, the actors were young so nothing more than stern faces were expected from them, which they delivered. Lacked emotion altogether. Overall a very disappointing movie made epic due to book's popularity.
The film was a disaster since the first frame it began with. A tremendously exhausted screenplay that doesn’t have enough reasons to display acting skills of Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly. Keanu Reeves didn’t have much to do. Jennifer Connelly needs to gain weight, her acting isn’t clearly visible on her face as it was when she was during House of Sand and Fog period . Overall quite a disappointing experience.
There is nothing to watch in this film except the Legendary duo. The film has a queasy plot which does not render Al Pacino or Robert DiNero to display their abilities on screen. It has no sub-plot whatsoever, which makes the entire runtime focused on a single storyline. Having the legendary duo at stake, the writers and the director make no attempt to flourish the characters. Overall a very crippled film which will not satisfy Pacino and Dinero fans.
I wouldn’t say it is the most entertaining, spine-tingling horror extravaganza of this year. I wouldn’t say that it had the most terrifying scenes in the history of horror. But then again Mirrors isn’t meant to satisfy all the needs of a perfect movie mentioned above. It is an average film with average actors who do in fact bring their characters to life quite deftly. It has a story that isn’t complicated to comprehend. But it all comes to one single scene in the movie. I will not mention the scene in this review, but if you have watched this film, you would definitely know what I’m talking about. And if you haven’t watched this film yet, I would suggest you do because that scene is worth your $11.50.
Every fan must be crestfallen after watching this third installment in the series. It simply does not live up to the expectations. Firstly, lack of Stephen Sommers as the director is visible. Rachel Weisz's absence from the screen is frighteningly dreadful. The audience cannot accept any other actress to take her place. Last but not the least; Brendan Fraser does not look old enough to be a father of a 20-25 year old. Both the men looked almost the same age. These are the massive flaws that brought this film down on its knees. Another thing about this film is that there was no meticulous plot. The biggest concern all Mummy fans might have with this film would definitely be WHY? Overall a very frail, infirm, decrepit film.
An amazing adventure for family and friends. Brendan Fraser delivers the performance of a lifetime, not in the terms of acting, wasn't necessary, but a complete action/adventure Hero. The film delivers exactly what is expected of it, sheer fictional adventure. From the very beginning of the film the audience is taken beyond the confines of a common, regular science fiction mingled with childish comedy in a complete blend which gives an undeniably exhilarating family flick as an outcome. Journey to the Center of the Earth does more than that. Without slaughtering raw on making base ground for the story they begin with a quick introduction of all characters and adhering them all in for an adventure worthy of beholding. Although the story is not elaborate, doesn't include meticulous writing, but the new digital 3D effects make it worth every penny of the ticket price. I bought it for $14.50, which is a bit more than the regular ticket price, guess the hike is for the glasses. Brendan Fraser is just over the top. It is not surprising that he does so well in this genre of films. The movie is not made to render your mind with details of science development in the earth's core. Do not watch this expecting logic and insight. It is simply the most enjoyable film, with 3D effects, so far this year. Then again enjoyable in the terms of a family film. 9 out of 10 stars. Deserves a higher collection at the box office than it is gaining. You will definitely give a round of applause when the end credits roll. I guarantee that. A MUST SEE.
M. Night Shyamalan used to be an extremely talented director and writer. I think that quality is long lost. The Happening is another addition to his plateau of off beat, slow, silent, boring thrillers like The Village and Lady in the Water, that are coming from the same mastermind who showcased the greatest Horror/Thriller of all time The Sixth Sense. Shyamalan needs to work on his projects before he decides making a film out of them. The Happening has only a few meticulous scenes that barely raise your eyebrows. There is not much explanation as to why everything that is Happening is happening. The cast is poor, acting is weak. Overall it is a film that can be skipped as there are more than many other films playing worth a watch.
A tale we've seen numerous times before. A woman agonized by men returns for revenge and claims the lives that took hers. The movie offers several scenes, or one must say shots, that are chilling enough to make you shudder at times, especially teens and women, definitely not those who are more than familiar with Horror and adult audience. But the way the film is presented makes you yawn in between a couple of times. None of the deaths are meticulous enough to demand positive reviews, except the climax with Joshua Jackson. Overall a good performance by Rachel Taylor, but still not sufficient to render the film an edge-of-the-seat fright tag. Could have been made better. Could have been skipped.
