Okay, the previews that I saw gave the appearance of a horror movie. So way out in left field!!! It was not on my mind to see this picture, but my thirteen year old niece wanted to see a scary movie. Well, this is NOT that movie. Please keep looking. I wish I had taken her on a Tuesday evening to a Clearview cinema where I get two free movie tickets. The best part of this experience? My niece got to enjoy dinner in the AMC theatre we patronized!
I am a YANKEE fan. It was cool to see actual clips of YANKEE team players! Even if baseball is not your hobby, I believe you will still see the good acting and storyline and appreciate some time well spent.
I expected more action than what actually was. The movie opens with a drive scene, but the rest of the movie slowly develops the innocent romance. The violent scenes were definite overkill. I would have waited for the movie to appear on cable had the previews been more accurate.
My 18yr old daughter and I saw this movie together. It had a nice blend of the romance, action and comedy that really entertained! Terrific way to get immersed into pure afternoon satisfaction!
With all of the mixed reviews, I decided to see this movie for myself. I am glad that I did! I enjoyed the cast- especially Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise. It was NOT offensive to me and I am an African American woman. Hollywood was spoofing Hollywood and their pampered actors. The movie hit the nail on the head! With the current state of affairs in our time today, humor is welcome!
I am not a particular fan of horror flicks. I am drawn somewhat to the paranormal, so the storyline about 'spirits watching from within the mirrors' was not a TOTAL stretch based on the paranormal premise. But, in my opinion, the film never got up to speed in the HORROR department. When I think of horror and paranormal, CARRIE comes to mind. This film left me less than partially satisfied....and I say that with caution. I even went on opening night- the Friday, 10:10pm show! I had really hoped for a great 'jump out of your skin, shiver in your seat, afraid to go to sleep' kind of horror. NOPE!!
The 3 star rating is for the effort put forth by the entire cast----- otherwise, I would probably give it 1 star.
I was looking forward to this movie, particularly because of the popular ABBA music. I was not disappointed at all! The movie was upbeat, funny, lightly romantic and a joy to watch. It pulled me into its atmosphere. My mom enjoyed singing along and humming to the tunes.
I took my mom to this movie with me. I am NOT a die-hard Batman fan NOR did I see all of the prior Batman movies. I enjoyed the series on t.v. while I was growing up. I have to say...this movie was A W E S O M E !! It had the right amounts of action combined with drama, suspense and a mild love story. And yes, Mr. Heath Ledger gave an award winning performance! It was time well spent.....
