This is a biographical movie that is not played over the top! The story is inspirational and the performances by Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg and Melissa Leo are outstanding!Good performances are also credited to Amy Adams amd Robert Wahlberg.
My Boston friends were offended by the Lowell "accents" depicted in the movie but as a college grad from that area the movie captured the ambience of the good folks and the city of Lowell.
BRAVO to David O. Russell! I'm off to rent "Adaptation" now to check this Director's other work!
